Description
The Vermonter Work Glove
The Vermonter is the flagship work glove from Vermont Glove. The company has sewn gloves by hand in Randolph, Vermont since 1920. Each pair uses 100% American goatskin leather. These heavy duty leather work gloves outlast cheap imports by years.
Why Goatskin Leather
Goatskin gives you the toughness of cowhide and the feel of deerskin. It stays soft after a soaking instead of drying stiff. The leather feels supple right out of the package. Then it breaks in to the shape of your hand, like a good baseball glove. Over time, the bright natural yellow color turns into a rich patina.

What They’re Good For
Use them for firewood, chainsaw work, fencing, and barbed wire. They handle farm and ranch chores, gardening, landscaping, and construction. They also earn their keep in the shop and at camp. The unlined design keeps your grip sharp for small jobs, like picking up a nail. For cold weather, pair them with wool liners.
How to Find Your Size
Vermont Glove sizes run larger than most brands. You want a snug fit so the leather can form to your hand. Wrap a soft tape measure around your knuckles, leaving out your thumb. That number is your glove size.
- Small: about 8 inches
- Medium: about 9 inches
- Large: about 10 inches
- XL: about 11 inches
Between sizes? Go with the smaller one.
Care
Wet gloves? Let them air dry slowly at room temperature. Keep them away from heaters, wood stoves, and other direct heat. High heat pulls the natural oils out of the leather.
